goofy and i

Its been a long time coming, almost two months but here’s a new Wired Jesus. It goes into where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to since this move as well as some personal insights into over-commitment. Sometimes we (meaning I 🙂 ) forget that rest is an important part of life and staying healthy. Here’s to making the time again for Wired Jesus!

Oh, yes, the clips – excerpts from Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues and from the opening speech from the movie Patton. I know, you’ll have to listen to figure out how they could possible go together.

Another great PODcast by Pastor Tom!

Tom, Glad to hear from you again. Sounds like life in the big city got busy. Love the podcast. I was watching the Willow Summit via satellite feed from beautiful Tampa, FL where life is a little slower, but found Andy Stanley’s words refreshing as well. I also picked up on Hybels workaholic attitude in opposition to Stanley. We took ten leaders with us and I think Stanley’s message convicted everyone of us in our way whether we are paid staff for the church or unpaid staff for the Chruch. Blessings and look forward to the next podcast – when time permits.

    Tom ~
This podcast was so inspiring. Thanks for your honest take on ministry and time devoted to minsitry. I read the links before listening to the show and thought that you had second thoughts on your neighboring church. Good to hear you went and pleased to hear your heart on what you took from it…and what you left there. Looking forward to more thoughts from future podcasts.

Great podcast Tom. Refreshing, inspiring and honest, it’s a privalidge to be in on the journey. Can’t wait to hear more (and more frequently). Hope your doing well.

Thanks one and all. For us pastor types, its easy to get sucked into the thought that we have to do everything while we preach that Jesus is still building the church through the spirit. Not only does it take us down the road to burn out, its a bad example to our staff and congregation. Its also pretty clear to postmoderns who see the disconnect and are hungry from a step back from the rat race of 21st century living and its perceived demands.

Thanks for the concern. A script is ready for recording this weekend, so watch for it.
