Its been a few weeks but here’s a podcast on some of the wackiness out that poses as Christianity. Strange thing is, the wackiest is a guy who believes he’s serious and his take on Jesus is for real. John Hagee is intent on seeing an impending apocalypse as the debut of a Rambo style Jesus and an opportunity to make some serious cash. Landover Baptist at least knows its a satire site and worth the visit for the laughs.

    Tom –

After listening to this latest cast, twice, Im still not sure how you will answer this question….

Do you beleive in Hell? and if so, who has to endure it? Vice Versa, who doesn’t have to endure it and by what qualifications do they ‘escape’ it?

I am sincere in saying that I am not trying to ‘start’ anything here. I am just asking so as to clarify for myself where you stand.

    Thank you,
    Tim Mead
    (real name!)

    Hi Tom. Enjoy every episode!

Thanks for your insights! Thought I’d recommend a show for you. It’s “One Punk Under God.” If you haven’t heard of it; it’s a documentary on Jay Bakker, son of Jim Bakker. It’s on the Sundance channel which I don’t get buy available on iTunes. The premiere episode which aired on Dec. 15 is available for free on iTunes.

Thanks again for you contribution to the journey!

Want some laughs? Or some shocks, as the case may be? While Googling type in “Powered by Christ Ministries” and land on “Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism” – which John Hagee doesn’t want you to read or even see! Louise

    2 Peter 3rd chapter verse:

    (3) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, (4) And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

The very existance of this disscusion is another small proof in the big picture of the absolute truth of Gods word. Make no mistake. Jesus went to the cross just like he said he would. Jesus rose himself from dead just like he said he would. Jesus is coming back to this earth just like he said he would. And of His kingdom there shall be no end.

  5. Zach says:

    1 John 5:10
Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.

    Ephesians 3:12
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

    John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

How Dare All of You! Not having faith is one thing but poking fun at Christianity is not the answer. Have you ever read the Word of God? or actually listened to John Hagee without reservation in your hearts and chips on your shoulders? What if you were to die tonight in your sleep?, where would you end up? What have you got to lose by having faith in Jesus Christ? Please read the Word of God and accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, for if you do not then you will surely beg for mercy before the Mighty Judgement Seat of God one day. I will pray for all of you.

  6. Brent says:

Zach, you again? I thought you only went to my website with your judgements. By the way, I didn’t answer your comments there, because they did not warrant the time for an argument. I have more important things to do. Please humble yourself.

Zach, for someone who claims to be as devout a Christian as you do, you sure are very judgemental. You go around the Internet, quoting Bible verses and command that everyone believe what you believe. But it is up to each person to make these decisions. It is up to the Lord to judge, not you, my friend.

Get over yourself, and be humbled. That is what Jesus calls us to do, not to criticize others’ for their beliefs.

Matthew 7:1-5 (New King James Version)

1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Something to remember. It is one thing to pray for people to be saved, and another to criticize those who have not been.

  7. Tom Lyberg says:

Hmmm. This is an old thread with some new life. Don’t want it to go all harsh but I think it is safe to say that for any of us on the walk with Jesus, we Christians often make fun of ourselves without realizing it. I think this was just one example where we have made ourselves and following Jesus look ridiculous. It just struck me that Landover and John Hagee came across way too similar and in the case of Pastor Hagee, way too sincere.

Good to know you are still out there, Brent.

I have got to get a podcast up this week.
