Had to run into Toledo for a hospital visit, so got to catch up and listen to some Daily Source Code and a little Area 51. I was pleasantly surprised to find my new Sennheiser PC130 headset and mic ready and waiting for me when I got home. Not only do they work well with my audacity tests but they rock with Unreal 2004. Now if I can just pry Halflife 2 out of my son’s hands…
Caught a little about the Benny Hinn expose on Dateline. No wonder people are writing off the church. That’s the public face of Jesus? Somehow the whole business of “take up your cross and follow me” means your cross includes private jets, mansions, and designer suits. Missed that in the Bible. Guess I need to talk to the church treasurer about a pay raise and a stylin ride.
No wonder so many of us under 40 think church is either irrelevant and out of date like the many abandoned churches downtown or full of hypocritical crap like Benny and his combover. Too bad, local congregations are usually somewhere inbetween and much more real but no one is coming to check it out for themselves and no one is leaving the building to live like Jesus. Another challenge for us pastor types.
