Here is podcast #20 and I think I’m starting to get the hang of this. This original posting is pretty bare bones and without the show notes – have a friend flying in from Florida and just got back from a 4th Grade soccer players got injuried and ended up in the ER. Life catches up and keeps you busy. I’ll get the show notes up tomorrow but in the meantime, enjoy the podcast.

The download link is broken, here is the correct one.

  2. Lon says:

I can listen via Ian’s link on my computer, but can’t seem to figure out a way to download the podcast through iTunes. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Lon

    Tom,
You forgot to create the enclosure tag for this episode. FYI.
    Keep up the good work.

Sorry. I forgot to include the .mp3 extension. Thanks to Ian for keeping on top of the goof on my part. It is now up and coming down on itunes.

As far as subscribing through itunes, I prefer ipodder to itunes. However, just do a search for wired jesus podcast on itunes and it should pull it up. Just click subscribe and indicate how many episodes you want to download and keep. My brother subscribes via itunes and the corrected version was downloaded while we were talking on Skype after I corrected the link.

thanks for keeping me on top of things, folks. I appreciate the concern and help.

By the way, I’ll be adding a favicon this week and also a graphic with the soundfile that will appear in itunes. You’ll notice when you download but I’ll let everyone know. It will help with my itunes visability. Also, if any of you have your own blogs or podcasts, pass them on to me and I’ll post it on a new Friends page and ask that you would do the same with a linke to wired jesus. Last but not least, watch for a promo real soon.

If you have any other ideas, let me know.

    Tom,

Just stumbled across your site today. Working away in my office to catch up this Sunday, but wanted some kind of spiritual infusion. I like your thoughtful podcasts.

I have been feeling like a Christian in exile for a while. Church just doesn’t do it for me anymore. I am having sort of a revelation seeing your podcast and realizing there is a greater community out there who feel uncomfortable in the traditional church and are hoping to find new ways to worship God and to live out their faith. I am liking this idea of virtual churches online.

    Greetings from Canada.

    Hi,
you were asking about some software to record skype conversations.
If you use M$ Outlook there is an app called Skylook (www.skylook.biz) that apparently can do it.
I recieved a free copy of it, but I have no use for it. If you want it I can give it to you.

  7. Brad Rhoads says:

For Skype recording you can try

  8. utech says:

For recording Skype calls I used audacity on another PC that I join in the conference and it records the entire conversation, just make sure you don’t have play thru turned on.

You talked about use of audio visuals during weddings. What I wish people could see is what we do at my church (http://bethelcupertino.org) for memorial services. (Not that I wish people have to go to more funerals). Slide shows are a given but often video is also involved. Two years ago as we wrestled with the death of a teenager (and a friend of my son) we were able to share some of his home movies. His dream had been to be a film maker and when he met Robin Williams through the Make a Wish foundation he greeted him with a script for a movie. That movie and a couple of others were shown during the memorial service. There were may tears shed as you would expect at a funeral like this but at least some of them were tears of joy as we laughed at those movies.

Tom… where you at man? I need my Wired Jesus! You alright? You are missed!

  11. Tom Lyberg says:

I’m back. Watch for a podcast today (Sunday) or tomorrow. Long story.

  12. DAVe says:

Is the music you use for background your original work?

  13. Tom Lyberg says:

The background music is some music I found awhile back via the Podsafe Music Podcast. Its called This One or That One by The Six Parts Seven.

Good stuff and they’re even from Ohio.
