Yes, I’m back and the explanation is on the podcast. Let’s just say life got busy and unpleasant for a bit but things are much improved. Hopefully my podcasting time will improve as well.

While the Soundtrack to Life podcast is still coming, because of a personal experience and recent Evil Genius Chronicles, I’m wandering with this one. You’re probably used to it by now. Enjoy exploring these two rather unique communities that have a lot to offer postmodern pilgrims.

    Hey Tom,

Glad you are back, but ease up on the harshness toward us aging baby boomer/hippie types who would still rather make love and not war. As one who just aged another year this past week, I’ve got to remind you that the seventies was about community too. It was not ALL sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, although that certainly played it’s part, there was also care for each other, the planet, and even for what we called “the establishment.” Unfortunately many of us became “the establishment” but that is grist for another podcast. Only time will tell, but forty years from now some “wandering pilgim” may poke fun at Greenday just as you poke fun at Peter, Paul and Mary.

Kudos on the Kairos experience. It was awesome to hear about despite the fact that I have never found the courage to take that step. Perhaps one day in the future.

Also, I appreciate your words on the podcast versus radio/television debate. I confess that yours is about the only podcast I listen to, but I am still a product of my generation in many ways. I have ventured into unknown territory by following some of your links. I appreciate the nudge into this (for me) brand new world. Shalom.

Well spoken. Now for confession – I still like listening to 60s folk music. What can I say, its part of my childhood, like still cheering for the Detroit Lions. I still remember watching A Mighty Wind and crying because I was laughing so hard. You are right, some day Green Day will echo down the hallways of nursing homes. Things kind of go that way. Reminds me of song, for everything there is a season, turn, turn, turn… I wonder where they got those lyrics?

    Tom,

What a great description of Kairos. It took me back four years and my ‘walk’ through the emmaus community. I wished at the time to learn more of serving on a Kairos walk, but the emmaus community back then required that one work a walk first before you could serve on Kairos. The problem was me and my perception of the specific emmaus community you had to serve with first in order to get invited to work Kairos.

The more I listen to your podcast, the more I see areas in my life that make me feel more like I am living the life of TBN than TLC. Thanks for de-Crouching my thought processes more and more with each podcast.

Tom, why is every comment getting duplicated?

  6. Tom Lyberg says:

Hmmm. I’m not sure. But welcome, Joe! Glad to have you along. Go ahead and send me your blog info. I’m putting together a page of Friends of Wired Jesus and be glad to add you to the list.

PT – Thanks for the great Kairos “plug”. It is indeed “real”….in life, relationships and journey. Glad we have you along with us. 🙂
